Frequently asked questions

Can i rent skis on board?

Skis cannot be rented, but we will have some pairs of test skis available for borrowing. We recommend everyone to bring their own, or rent in advance, ski boots, skis, skins, and poles. Crampons can also be useful, especially for advanced skiers.

are there large groups that go together?

The groups are divided by skill level and there are 6 skiers in each group, each with their own guide. We seek out areas that offer good skiing for all levels – we spread out in the mountains.

Do you have to be in great shape?

It is important that all participants are able to hike up a mountain at a leisurely pace. We have two levels: intermediate and expert, and more is required of those in the expert group. They often hike longer and higher, and being in good shape is definitely recommended.

What do we do about lunch?

We prepare packed lunches at breakfast and bring water and often a thermos with a hot drink.

do we know were we will ski along the way?

We know the sailing route and the planned landings and ski areas, but the weather conditions always determine where we ski and what kind of terrain/steepness is appropriate. The guides and captain assess the situation continuously. Safety always comes first.
